Ski jacket prototype using Spiber's engineered spider silk material QMONOS™️ exhibited at world's largest winter sports exhibitions

As part of its business strategy for expanding global brand presence, Spiber’s partner GOLDWIN Inc. participated in the “Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show 2018” in Denver, USA, and “ISPO Munich 2018” in Munich, Germany. At both events, GOLDWIN exhibited a new prototype ski jacket utilizing Spiber’s QMONOS™️ engineered spider silk material.

Announcement of Third-Party Allocation of New Shares Worth a Total of​ ​999.94 million yen

In order to continue its research and development endeavors and scale up operations to prepare for mass production, Spiber Inc. has received 999.94 million yen through third-party allocation​ ​of new shares to an undisclosed organization. Following the issuance of these new shares, the company’s total capital has increased to ​1​7.24366 billion yen (including capital reserves).

Announcement of Third-Party Allocation of New Shares Worth a Total of​ ​1​.6004 billion ​​yen

In order to continue its research and development endeavors and scale up operations to prepare for mass production, Spiber Inc. has received 1.6004​ ​billion yen through third-party allocation​ ​of new shares to​ ​organizations including The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited,​ ​and​ ​Toyota Boshoku Corporation. Following the issuance of these new shares, the company’s total capital has increased to ​16.​24372 billion yen (including capital reserves).

Spiber chosen for participation in NEDO’s “Smart Cell” project

The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) has chosen Spiber to participate in its “Development of Production Techniques for Highly Functional Biomaterials Using Smart Cells of Plants and Other Organisms” project (Smart Cell Project). The aim of this project is to support the development of innovative biotechnologies to produce industrial materials from plants and microorganisms, and in doing so to help realize the creation of a “Smart Cell Industry.”
