PROTOTYPING STUDIO Begins Operations

Spiber Inc. and Kojima Industries Corp. (headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture), with support from the NEDO subsidy program, have jointly constructed a facility for the production, prototyping and evaluation of new materials such as QMONOS™. A press conference was held today at the Tsuruoka Advanced Research Industry Support Center to announce the commencement of this new facility, which has been named the “PROTOTYPING STUDIO.”

Spiber President Sekiyama Receives the Second Symbols of Tomorrow Award

Spiber President Kazuhide Sekiyama received the second Symbols of Tomorrow Award in the healthcare essentials category. The Symbols of Tomorrow Award honors younger generations pursuing innovation in building a healthy tomorrow for Japan. The award ceremony took place at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on October 2nd, 2013.

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Approves of Spiber Project Under the A-STEP Program

Spiber’s collaborative R&D project with academia in artificial blood vessels has been accepted under the A-STEP program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency. See below for details.
